The Master program "Made in Italy, Fashion and Luxury Management” (MIFL), presented entirely in English, is a first level University Master. Its main objective is to train professionals and provide them with strong skills in the fashion and luxury market, in order to identify new business opportunities in international markets and to build and manage projects in creative industries with premium strategies.
The fashion and luxury industry is a growing and rapidly evolving sector, where particular individual abilities of creativity and management, strategic skills, communication and managing of new technologies are required, as well as specific abilities and competences for the development of new initiatives.
In this context, the Master Made in Italy, Fashion & Luxury Management underlines the importance of the specific features of the Italian System and its creativity and innovation skills that distinguish Italian brands in the main international markets.
The MIFL Master offers a professional and formative path, which offers candidates a concrete opportunity to start a career in a stimulating and international context in addition to acquiring professionalism and competence in the field of business management models of fashion and luxury. Events and networking activities will also contribute to enriching each individual experience, also thanks to the interaction with creative companies in the fashion and luxury sector.
The MIFL program is highly stimulating and it is orientated towards developing both vertical competences (regarding made in Italy and its fashion and luxury goods field) and transversal (such as business planning, problem solving and teamwork) necessary to successfully enter the growing international framework. In the first part of the Master program, the students will have the possibility to strengthen their knowledge of international management and global strategies development that are fundamental in the field of fashion and luxury goods (with special courses in international strategies, marketing management, international finance and human resource management)
The second part will concentrate more specifically on Fashion and Luxury goods, with modules regarding business management analysis and procedures on how to understand consumers and building innovative commercial strategies. Amongst the various courses students will also have the opportunity to examine more in depth fashion research and trend forecasting methods, managing purchasing and merchandising in the field of fashion, developing and managing retail chains and understanding the procedures to create international brands.
The course ends with advanced tools in innovative analysis and techniques for creating business plans and a specific module dedicated to new techniques in digital marketing and communication through social media. These last two modules will be reviewed again in the final part of the program, with a workshop on Fashion and Luxury goods dedicated to digital communication management and methods for creating an e-business and e-commerce platform.
Marketing and communication are amongst the most requested areas of fashion and luxury goods (25%), with focus on the working positions in social media (20%), sales and retail management (35%), administration and business development (20%).
The Master Program also offers a stage in a creative company, which is the emblem of Made in Italy, in fashion and luxury goods, where students can complete their on the job training and test their new expertise.
The structure of the programme
The Master programme is divided in two phases: the first one is held in Milan and focuses on international business issues and cross-cultural management in Asian markets.
The second phase offers an opportunity to have an internship that combines a specialist programme with a strictly personalised traineeship guaranteed to all students. For participants lacking an economics background knowledge, there is the opportunity to attend classes in Business Administration and Accounting.

4. Internship Programme
The Master in “International Business in China” welcomes recent international graduates from a variety of study disciplines and cultural backgrounds. This ranges from those with no professional experience looking for a degree programme that acts as bridge to the real world as well as candidates with up to two years of professional background who seek in-depth knowledge of how theory applies to the real world.
A proven fluency in English (the instruction language) is required.

Master courses are given by University LUM Jean Monnet scientific staff and prestigious international visiting professors and managers (from Universities, research centres, international organizations).
Participants take an examination at the end of each subunit. Examinations are in the form of oral or written exams (i.e. sets of questions, exercises, multiple-choice).
Evaluation is made by the lecturers of the course.
At the end of the course, participants have to pass a final comprehensive oral exam before an Examination Board.
The Master provides students with 60 ECTS credits.
